I wanted to say a big thank you to the several people who this semester have hit my car in the parking lot, left big scrapes and scratches and then drove away without leaving me any information - ESPECIALLY the person who must have hit my car in Lot ZZ North sometime in the last 24 hours.

My bumper is now partially folded in on itself and I cannot afford to have what your insurance would have covered completely fixed so now this wonderful wonderful beauty mark that you have left on my car must stay indefinitely. Thank you SO MUCH for making my car, which I have never myself allowed to collide with another, look like even more of a shit-tank. I hope you choke on your own vomit and die in a fire.

My mom bought herself a record-cd-tape player for Christmas and has now been dancing around the house to thriller for much longer than I'm comfortable with.

Happy Presents!

I kicked the practice LSATs ASS. Especially considering that they claim I omitted 10 answers, when I didn't and after I got my score back I compared the answers I had written in the test booklet to the answers that Kaplan gave me. Without those answers (most of which I got right) I got a 165 which is my aim score!

I had a perfect in the game section! I struggled most with the reading comprehension which was probably because that was the second to last section on the exam and by that point I was so enraged with the person perpetually KICKING THEIR LEGS next to me that I couldn't concentrate very well.

I'M SO EXCITED. Seriously, I know it's only a practice score but this is really really good for me! The higher I score, the more likely I am to get into my goal school (Fordham!), with hopefully some kind of scholarship or grant AND I was on the phone with my dad and he said if my uncle sells the company by then, he might be willing to help me pay for law school which would be AMAZING. I would be THRILLED. I would run up to and kiss his entire family!

Now I just have to study my ass off with my lovely Princeton Review book to get ready for the February LSAT, so this time I can actually be prepared! YAY!!!!!!!

i'm continuing the buffy love

The thing is...I had a speech. I learned it all. Oh, God. She won't understand, she won't understand.

Of course she won't, understand Sparky. I'm beyond her understanding. She's a girl, she's sugar and spice and everything useless unless you're baking. I'm more than that, more than flesh--more than blood. I'm...you know I don't think there's a human word fabulous enough for me. Oh my name will be on everyone's lips, assuming their lips haven't been torn off. But not just yet, that's all right though...I can be patient. Everything is well within parameters. She's exactly where I want her to be, and so are you Number 17, you're right where you belong. So what'd you think? That you'd get your soul back and everything would be all Jim Dandy. A soul's slipperier than a greased weasel why do you think I sold mine? Well, you probably thought that you'd be your own man, and I respect that but you never will. You'll always be mine. You'll always be in the dark with me, singing our little songs. You like our little songs, don't you? You've always liked them. Right from the beginning, and that's where we're going.

Right back to the beginning. Not the bang, not the word, the true beginning. The next few months are going to be quite a ride and I think we're all going to learn something about ourselves in the process. You'll learn that you're a pathetic schmuck, if you haven't already. Look at you, trying to do what's right, just like her. You still don't get it.

It's not about right, it's not about wrong. It's about power.

Anyone and everyone that goes to Binghamton should take a class taught by Professor Pindell. I've only attended one lecture so far but he is already becoming one of my favorite teachers. The man is amazing, the way that he speaks to the class and about the content is just so different from every other person. The class that I'm taking is Eng 300P Love and Death in Modern Literature and he knows the books in and out, better than probably almost anyone else. We're reading The Virgin Suicides, Running With Scissors, Lovely Bones and The Collector, The Hours and Bastard out of Carolina.

This is going to be my favorite class this semester, I think it already is.

Barack Obama '08

Everyone should take the time to read about this man, Barack Obama. From everything that I have read about him / seen already he is just a great man - unlike most other politicians (meaning he is not a souleating snake. This is a letter that he sent out to his mailing list this morning:

Dear Friend,

Watch Barack's statement on forming a Presidential Exploratory Committee

As you may know, over the last few months I have been thinking hard about my plans for 2008. Running for the presidency is a profound decision - a decision no one should make on the basis of media hype or personal ambition alone - and so before I committed myself and my family to this race, I wanted to be sure that this was right for us and, more importantly, right for the country.

I certainly didn't expect to find myself in this position a year ago. But as I've spoken to many of you in my travels across the states these past months; as I've read your emails and read your letters; I've been struck by how hungry we all are for a different kind of politics.

So I've spent some time thinking about how I could best advance the cause of change and progress that we so desperately need.

The decisions that have been made in Washington these past six years, and the problems that have been ignored, have put our country in a precarious place. Our economy is changing rapidly, and that means profound changes for working people. Many of you have shared with me your stories about skyrocketing health care bills, the pensions you've lost and your struggles to pay for college for your kids. Our continued dependence on oil has put our security and our very planet at risk. And we're still mired in a tragic and costly war that should have never been waged.

But challenging as they are, it's not the magnitude of our problems that concerns me the most. It's the smallness of our politics. America's faced big problems before. But today, our leaders in Washington seem incapable of working together in a practical, common sense way. Politics has become so bitter and partisan, so gummed up by money and influence, that we can't tackle the big problems that demand solutions.

And that's what we have to change first.

We have to change our politics, and come together around our common interests and concerns as Americans.

This won't happen by itself. A change in our politics can only come from you; from people across our country who believe there's a better way and are willing to work for it.

Years ago, as a community organizer in Chicago, I learned that meaningful change always begins at the grassroots, and that engaged citizens working together can accomplish extraordinary things.

So even in the midst of the enormous challenges we face today, I have great faith and hope about the future - because I believe in you.

And that's why I wanted to tell you first that I'll be filing papers today to create a presidential exploratory committee. For the next several weeks, I am going to talk with people from around the country, listening and learning more about the challenges we face as a nation, the opportunities that lie before us, and the role that a presidential campaign might play in bringing our country together. And on February 10th, at the end of these decisions and in my home state of Illinois, I'll share my plans with my friends, neighbors and fellow Americans.

In the meantime, I want to thank all of you for your time, your suggestions, your encouragement and your prayers. And I look forward to continuing our conversation in the weeks and months to come.

Sincerely,

U.S. Senator Barack Obama

together we will live forever

I'm going to be upset with the Oscars this year. Primarily because within the last 24 hours I've watched the fountain / many scenes from the fountain multiple times...to say the least. This was such a beautiful film I really can't get past it. I feel like I should write a letter to Darren Aronofsky commending him on his work.

They were supposed to make this film a few years ago, remember when Brad Pitt grew out that beard? He was originally Tomas, and Cate Blanchett as Izzi. I almost don't believe I'm saying it but I'm so happy that Cate dropped out of this movie because Rachel Weisz is perfect, as is Hugh Jackman (though it should go without saying).

If nothing else this should at least be nominated for best original screenplay (or would it count as adapted since he published the graphic novel when he didn't think the film would be made?) and Hugh Jackman deserves an Oscar for his performance. It's so beautiful.

I'm so happy that Aronofsky didn't back down and that he made this movie the way he wanted to.
